Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 21, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using PDF Toolkit (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the Service.
2. The service
PDF Toolkit provides browser-based tools to merge, split, edit, convert, compress, and secure PDF files, plus an optional AI chat feature. The PDF utility tools run entirely in your browser — your files are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- process documents you do not own or are not authorized to handle;
- remove passwords from files you have no right to access;
- infringe any third party’s intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service or its infrastructure.
4. Your files and content
You retain all ownership of the files you process. Because the utility tools operate locally in your browser, we never receive, store, or have access to your documents. You are solely responsible for keeping your own backups.
5. Bring-your-own-key AI
The AI features are “bring your own key”. When you use them, your document and your prompt are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you choose (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google). Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms and pricing, and you — not PDF Toolkit — are responsible for any costs you incur with them.
6. Intellectual property
The Service’s software, design, and branding are the property of PDF Toolkit and are protected by applicable law. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks without prior written permission.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF Toolkit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
9. Changes to the service and terms
We may update the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date below. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
